The communities are reached by taking state Highway 87 to Payson (north from Phoenix or south from Interstate 40), and continuing east via state Highway 260. Traveling from Payson through Star Valley, the first community will be Kohl's Ranch then on to Christopher Creek, Forest Lakes then Heber /Overgaard. Young will take a little more effort as it's about 26 miles off the Rim, the turn off is between Christopher Creek and Forest Lakes.
