![]() Lakes Along The Mogollon Rim Along the Eastern Mogollon Rim between Payson and Heber Overgaard is a string of several prestine mountain lakes filled with cool fresh water and stocked with a variety of fish species. Some of the lakes are easy to get to off Highway 260 and others are a little more dificult to obtain off the Rim Road, Forest Dervice Road 300 or otherwise known as the General Crook Trail used during the times of the Indian Wars. Camp grounds are available at most of the lakes although there are some limitations There are also a few and scattered limitations for the use and fishing of the lakes such as some require artificle lures and bait only while some other lakes prohibit swimming (Woods Canyon for one) and others place restrictions on gas powered boat motors and/or size. It's always a good idea to check on use limitation before traveling to your destination. |
